Strawberry ~ Starfruit Infusion

Carambola, aka Starfruit is such a fun and easy fruit to work with. I decided to mix it with fresh strawberries for my infused water today. Don't they look fun? Have to admit they remind me a bit of the Mario Kart stars ;)

Some say you only need to wash and slice the starfruit, personally I like to remove the little edge at the points. I just take a potato peeler and I quickly remove the five edges, followed by slicing the starfruit, super quick and easy. I cut up the strawberries in quarters, added water and ice and let it sit for the flavors to infuse.

Starfruit is low in calories, high in fiber and a good source of vitamin B & C.
However please note that people with known kidney disease should not eat starfruit.

Happy New Year!!

It's a new year, it's 2017, time to try something new. Well, at least it is something new to me. For many years I have been exchanging Christmas gifts with two of my dear friends. We used to live close by each other back in Idaho, but as military wives we moved and moved and moved. This year we decided that our presents should be inspired by the letter 'C'. One of the gifts I received was a carafe from my dear friend Beth. I love it, as it is specifically for infused water. This morning I decided to give it a try, opened the fridge and looked at my options. I tell you decisions, decisions, decisions... Well, after looking at my options, I decided to try and see how celery and dill infused water would be. It actually tastes rather good, as can expected the dill is a tat stronger in taste, compared to the celery. But you can definitely detect them both.

I am eager to go to the store and buy ginger, lemons and different fruits and herbs.
Loving my infused water carafe. Thank you Beth xoxo
This is going to be so much fun!!
